Kalkaber Up Close
Crafted from Natural Materials
We use only natural materials—natural latex, organic cotton, wool, and rubberised hair—offering a superior alternative to synthetic foams. These materials provide exceptional comfort, breathability, and durability, ensuring your sofa lasts for years. Unlike petroleum-based foams, our natural materials are biodegradable and sustainably sourced, making them better for your home and the planet.
Free from Flame Retardants
Our sofas are entirely free from flame retardant (FR) and stain-resistant (SR) chemicals, making them a safer choice for your home. From the frame to the cushions, every element is crafted using only natural materials. Natural latex is far more durable than synthetic foam, retaining its shape and comfort for years. While it costs more, its longevity, support, and sustainability make it a worthwhile investment. We also offer a selection of FR- and SR-free fabrics, ensuring a truly natural sofa, inside and out.

Product description

Frame
Hand-built frame made from solid kiln-dried beech wood and eco-ply, sustainably sourced from Forest Stewardship Council-certified European forests. The durable frame has been glued, screwed, doweled, and then strengthened with screws for stability and longevity.
Fabric
Our sofas and armchairs are hand-upholstered in over 70 premium fabrics, including our natural and eco-fabrics. Prefer to use your own? It's not a problem; email us at info@slowsofa.com, and we can discuss it.
Guarantee
All of the frames for our sofas and chairs come with a lifetime guarantee as standard.
Cushions
Our cushions are meticulously crafted, combining eco-friendly natural latex foam with a layer of extra-soft feathers. This unique composition ensures each seat is supportive and exudes luxurious comfort. Designed for versatility and ease, the cushions are reversible, allowing you to effortlessly remove, flip, and rotate them to suit your comfort preferences. They are low-maintenance, too; a simple fluff and plump occasionally is all it takes to keep them looking and feeling great. In our commitment to sustainability, the latex used is both recyclable and biodegradable, offering an environmentally conscious choice. It stands out for its durability, being mould, mildew, and dust mite resistant, and boasts a lifespan that's 20 times longer than standard foam cushions.
